HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Back in 1992, ECAN was first founded by Mr. Suppawit and Ms. Narpansanan (Bua) in Thailand with a passion of orchid flowers. With the support from their family and friends, they started exporting to the market in Japan.

FACING CHALLENGES
In 1996, the company had started to expand its orchid operation. However, farming presented more challenges than ever. Not only due to tropical weather and political instability, but also drought and irrigation, the couple continue to move forward and focus on producing quality products.

FROM TRADITIONS TO INNOVATION
Ms. Bua was inspired by the smile of the people who received leis. The custom and tradition of lei giving had encouraged her to create leis that are truly meaningful to each individual. She started to incoporate the 800 years of tradition from Royal Thai style leis with Hawaiian patterns. This evolved into the creation of N-series (also known as Fith or Nani Lei) and many other new style leis.

NOT AN ORDINARY LEI STAND
Being the pioneer of creating the most unique and prestige premium orchid leis, it's popularity continues to grow and spread nationwide including some of the special events and award ceremonies, as well as professional golfers and politicians.

AS THE JOURNEY CONTINUES
In 1994 they started exporting to Europe and United Arab Emirates. Along the way, they explored and adapted the product's characteristic from each country.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
In 1998 Ms. Bua started to get ill from stress and diabetes. She was sent to Honolulu to be with her son. This is where she found the beauty of Hawaii and the true spirit of lei giving.

NEW CHAPTER NEW ERA
In 2003, ECAN USA was formed and established in Hawaii with the mission of embracing the tradition of lei giving culture by launching the new and transformed dendrobium orchid leis - in both deluxe and signature premium leis.

WE ARE THE ORCHID LEI COMPANY
From 2013 to present, there are more than 200 different types of leis had been created and they are currently available in the market throughout the islands as well as mainland US and Asian countries. With uncompromised quality, dedicated service and lifelong commitment, THE Orchid Lei Company by ECAN remains serving the community as a symbol of the circle of love and promise.
